The countdown is on to November 24th
1:00 P.M. to 2 :30 P.M. (est)
A moonshot is an extremely ambitious project undertaken to achieve a monumental goal and this is what is needed to create a sustainable event industry in the context of the climate emergency.
On November 24th, 2021 we will delve into how the meetings industry can reduce GHG (greenhouse gas) for events and present processes, products and resources to achieve carbon neutrality.
Hear first-hand how the organizing committee at CanSPEP’s (Canadian Society of Professional Event Planners) recently held annual conference approached planning a sustainable, carbon neutral multi-day hybrid program. You will hear about the areas they focused on, how they measured their impact and overcame the obstacles encountered along the way.
The organization committee will guide you through the process used throughout the planning and present their discoveries and will also describe what they mean from a business and planetary perspective.
Destination partner, Region of Waterloo will highlight some of the key findings uncovered in hosting a carbon neutral conference, while our industry experts will review how the measurement metrics were determined and what that means for new event planning approaches.
Rounding off the Moonshot, our panel of industry professionals in the sustainability field will delve deeper into the obstacles that were faced by the planning committee and break down what opportunities these present for learning and improving.
