No, it's not a new drink - but 2 teams of event professionals working to making an event carbon neutral or even, (gasp!) carbon negative! Using Canadian destinations, suppliers, and ideas -they will address a live and hybrid event. This is a practical look at what we can do now to reduce our event footprint!
It's also a look at what's missing? What are the products and services that help you lighten the (carbon) load for your event? The teams will uncover opportunities for new business and help you tailor your offerings to a changing market.

Ali is Director of Sustainability for Three Squares Inc., an award-winning sustainability consulting firm and one of the first in the world to achieve ISO 20121 certification. In this role, she has lead sustainability strategy and implementation efforts for clients ranging from the Democratic National Convention to the United Nations Foundation to the LA Marathon. She also serves as Director of the Women In Green Forum, an annual event that brings together the world’s most influential environmental trailblazers to showcase women’s leadership in the field.
Anaïs is the founder of Sustainable Events Caribbean a resource for education, training, and collaboration towards creating a sustainable event industry in the Caribbean. Anaïs has over 15 years of experience in event & conference planning and delivery with an emphasis on experiential events. Her areas of expertise include sustainability initiatives for business and government, logistics and stakeholder communications, and event sales and sponsorship.
Based in Trinidad & Tobago, Anaïs has spent the past six years learning and earning her certification in sustainable Events through the Event Industry Council and Positive Impact Events UK.
Sandra Wood, CMP is an award-winning, innovative certified meeting professional (CMP). An inductee in the Canadian Meeting & Events Hall of Fame as an Innovator for her work on food waste, Sandra was the first to start talking about food waste in the meetings industry in Canada.⠀
