Candice Tulsieram
Candice has been planning events for over 12 years and her passion for the events industry is evident. She believes that we should all strive to leave this world a little better than you found it. That sentiment is the driving force behind all she does as the co-founder of The Sustainable Events Forum. Candice champions sustainability because the future of her two little boys and her extended family depend on the actions we take today. While she has executed many events competently and in an environmentally friendly way and is an active volunteer in her industry, Candice has a very real superpower working with suppliers. Her sense of fairness, openness to new ideas and collegial attitude make her one of those planners that suppliers just love to go the extra mile for. In addition to the Sustainable Events Forum, Candice is Chief Event Strategist at her company, 360 Events Inc. and she is on a mission to plan and execute events which are a force for good in our environment and communities.
Natalie Lowe
Natalie never thought about the environment until her hometown of Slave Lake Alberta was consumed in a forest fire in May of 2011. After 8 years waiting for somebody to do something about climate change, she got to work. She created a course, started speaking to industry groups and drawing attention to the issue of waste and climate action in the events industry. (She is really sorry about those 8 years!) A colleague happened to casually mention that someone should do a sustainable event, and Natalie accepted that as a personal challenge – why hadn’t she? Her first call was to Candice and The Sustainable Events Forum was born. A hospitality and tourism business professional for over 30 years, Natalie runs her DMC, Celebrate Niagara. Natalie has sat on lots of boards and done lots of stuff, but she is more interested in what she is going to do next and how that is going to help you and the planet. Natalie thinks you are going to be the answer to the climate crisis, not the UN, not the government. You, taking action in your home, your work, your community will change the world. She’d love to talk to you about that!
